E is for..........

E is for..........Elf.

I'm one of those people.

You know the type.

The kind of person who peppers conversation with movie quotes.

Who knows, you may even be one of those people yourself.

I'm proud to say that my daughters have become enthusiastic movie quoters. It's like some kind of movie-quoting gene has been successfully passed on to the next generation. My daughters first showed an affinity for the perfectly timed and placed movie quote with lines from Elf. And for that, Jon Favreau and Will Ferrell, I am eternally grateful. Elf is full of great lines, and you never know when one of the girls will bust one out.

I love it every time.

Which movie do you quote most often?

  1. I've definitely got the movie quoting gene as well. I tend to quote Princess Bride and Pirates of the Caribbean a LOT. Yeah, kind of annoying. :)

  2. I quote Doctor who occasionally, or uh south park. My brain just does not retain quotes very well. I haven't seen the Elf movie yet but I will, I swear.

    1. From the sense of humor on your blog, I think Elf will be right up your alley. Especially if you like Will Ferrell.

  3. I already answered this one yesterday.

However, I do love Elf. Oddly enough, it was one of those movies I thought I wouldn't like, but then I laughed all the way through. Go figure. Now it's one of my favorite Christmas movies.

    1. My girls would watch it 24/7 around Christmas if we'd let them. Now I can't imagine a Christmas without it.

  5. Oh man I don't think I could ever just pick one movie, its kind of like a hobby for me being a quoter! Not only movies but some TV shows as well (Sex and the City and Friends get the most use there). A perfectly timed quote is an art form.

    1. My go to TV show for quotes is Seinfeld. And you're absolutely right, perfectly timed quotes are an art form.

  6. Too many! I also quote TBBT and Friends too. And My so-called life.

  7. You sit on a throne of lies is the best. I love Elf and your daughters are obviously awesome.

I think I probably quote The Christmas Story the most for movies, I don't know what it is about that but my whole family does it. We can't get a big box in the mail without saying "Fragile - It must be Italian."
For tv, it's Seinfeld all the way. There is a Seinfeld quote for pretty much any situation.

  9. One of my favorite quotes is from the movie, A FEW GOOD MEN when Jack Nicholson says, "You can't handle the truth." I use it quite a bit myself. Great word for the letter "E"!

  10. I can quote Fright Night (The original) and Jaws.

    "Welcome to Fright Night...for real."

"You're gonna need a bigger boat"

  12. I've never seen this film! I have seen others with Will Ferrel and I do enjoy his ridiculousness, but haven't seen this yet.
