So like I was saying, uh yeah, I'm in pretty deep when it comes to fantasy football.
Now everything's done online. The league I was in this year had guys from all over the US. Instead of meeting in a restaurant, we meet online for our drafts now. It's still a damn fun time, as guys chat smack back and forth.
In my all years of fantasy football, I've won a couple titles, won a few bucks. Nothing to write home about. It's the camaraderie that keeps me coming back. The back and forth with the guys, and gals sometimes too, is the best part of fantasy football. My wife laughs at how much texting goes on during football season. And she's right, it is pretty ridiculous.
But it's also brilliant.
I think we have a need for Community. It sounds like that is what FF gives you. It's the football, but it is so much more.

Sorry, Tim, can't help it. I''m like Pavlov's dog that way. Some says football and my chin drops to my chest. Drool ensues. It's a bad scene ...

ReplyDeleteI only played fantasy football once and in the tradition of my hometown Bengals I lost miserably. But I've always thought I should try it again, it seems so fun and since I am stuck with the Bengals I need something to get excited about during football season.
ReplyDeleteOne loves Fantasy Football. I Iiked it a little better in the old days when everything was done by hand but it is still fun today.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is obsessed with Fantasy Baseball. He's played on 2 different leagues with mostly the same guys for the 16 years I've known him. Keeps him occupied and happy for half the year.
