Very Stylish

I want to thank Kate at Calamity, Kids, & Other Stuff for giving me The Stylish blogger Award. Kate is a woman with a lot on her plate, and the way she handles it all is quite inspiring. I'm honored that Kate would think of me for an award. I have to share seven things people might not know about me, and then comes the best part, passing the award on to 7 other deserving bloggers.

1) My parents were both in the Navy, and I was born on the Naval base in Chelsea, Massachusetts.

2) My first concert was Hall and Oates, and yes, I am very proud to admit it.

3) I was an altar boy until I was 15.

4) I had pictures of Molly Ringwald and Siguorney Weaver on my wall in high school.

5) One of my favorite places in the world is the Student Union at the University of Wisconsin.  It doesn't get any better than having a beer on the Terrace.

6) When I lived in Minneapolis, I ran into Walter Matthau at my local grocery store. He was in town filming Grumpy Old Men. We were picking out melons together.

7) I will never forget the look on my dad's face when he got a hole-in-one on the last golf hole he ever played. Priceless.

Here are 7 stylish blogs you should really check out and follow:

  1. Wait, do I have to do something? I mean, does receiving your nomination mean that I just got an action item? That'll teach me to miss the staff meeting.

  2. Hey Tim, What a surprise to see my blog mentioned on your list of 7!

I haven't had the time to read blogs much, therefore, it's been a while since I've visited yours. And what happens when I finally get over here - I see my blog mentioned. :)

Thanks for the compliment and support.

Oh, and I like reading the hodge podge of info on your life.

And now, on to another of your past posts. :)

  3. Munk: Yeah, seven things about yourself, pass on the award to seven more bloggers. I just dragged the award to my desk top and pasted it in to the post.

Laoch: We still get up there every summer. Always spend an afternoon at the Union with my girls-they know they get giant ice cream cones, so it's a big hit.

    Anita: Your most welcome

Nari: Yeah, too bad Jack LEMMON wasn't there.

  7. Thank you Tim! I would like to respond here if you don't mind:
#1. I hate it when people phone me and say, "Hi, who's this?"
#2. When I was a kid I would sign my artwork Leonardo Da Vidstewart.
#3. My birth certificate lists a land location instead of a community.
#4. I once drove home in reverse.
    #5. I have a newspaper column.
#6. I visited Jim Morrison's grave in Paris.
#7. Sometimes when I read a book the music I'm listening to at the time becomes the soundtrack for the book and later, the music will inspire memories of the book. (I added this because I know you love books too.)

  8. Olga: You're most welcome. I really enjoy your blog, so it was my pleasure.

Michael: Just tryin to live the dream.

David: Well, they're definitely not the Smiths, but we all have those musical guilty pleasures.

GW: Love the Sally Field reference.

dbs: Don't mind at all. I noticed you already have a couple of these awards after the fact, but ah well, I enjoy your blog, and that's the real point. Love #7-I totally agree.

  9. So, was he grumpily picking out melons? If I'd had run into Matthau, I think security would have had to intervene - I'd have given him the biggest bear hug. I'm guessing he was really all teddy bear - very little grump. (Don't tell me otherwise!)
Loved that man-just reading his name here makes my day. Lucky you. ;)
    Congrats on your award.
