But it sounds like you do all the right things: second chances and extra help. Care and compassion. That is what really counts. Lots of positive stuff here. ;)Jaynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06694559900539722616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1497288803020823348.post-30426432531492061602011-10-05T15:24:38.538-07:002011-10-05T15:24:38.538-07:00Glad that you could focus on something positive de...Glad that you could focus on something positive despite the other irritation. I especially love the story of your student of the month!

I have a few teacher friends, and they all rant and rave about the test score issue. It seems so idiotic that so much is based on those scores, I can only imagine how frustrating that system must be.Julie Flandershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05003737491313673214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1497288803020823348.post-58657682846947369302011-10-05T08:14:32.871-07:002011-10-05T08:14:32.871-07:00You do such good work for the people of the world ...You do such good work for the people of the world Tim. I sent my children to a fantastic school in East Harlem that had pretty bad test scores. The school tried not to teach to the tests, but instead to teach the curriculum that mattered. I admired that. I just learned the school received an "A" on its latest report card. How did I find out? Because the NYTimes wrote an article about how over the weekend 21 computers were stolen from the school. The last time the computers were stolen, three years ago, it didn't make the paper. Did that A help?Hope Perlmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10599511890390199730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1497288803020823348.post-41143266826771095562011-10-04T21:37:24.550-07:002011-10-04T21:37:24.550-07:00Always love hearing your positive school stories. ...Always love hearing your positive school stories.
